Participants Help Siouxperman Make an Impact
Siouxperman Triathlon makes gift to local trails
JUNE 2018—The Siouxperman Triathlon is giving $2,500 toward improving Sioux Center’s recreation trails.
This is a first-ever community gift from the locally-run sprint triathlon, which is held the first Saturday in May each year.
“This triathlon encourages people making healthy lifestyle choices and is especially friendly to first-time triathletes,” said Race Director Jason Moeller. “The great trails in our community help people get active, and that really aligns with what we do.”
The final part of the sprint triathlon, a 5K run, uses the segment of Sioux Center’s recreation trail between Dordt College and Kinsey Elementary.
Moeller presented the $2,500 donation to the Sioux Center Trails Council this week, explaining that this gift comes out of Siouxperman participant entry fees.
“We continue to be blessed with great participation for this event along with great local support, which has allowed us to give back to our community,” Moeller said.
